The Niagara Girls Basketball Academy (NGBA) has been developed to provide girls in the Niagara Niagara Region a place to learn the game of basketball. The NGBA will offer high-level basketball skill development by concentrating on fundamental skill sets. Using the most advanced technology, the NGBA focuses on proper shooting technique, high-level dribble skills and most importantly the development of basketball IQ. Teaching skills are natural; teaching how to implement those skills in a game situation is a technique that only experience offers. The NGBA's technical director is former standout point guard David Picton, who as a player played a former Professional in Europe, was a Canadian National Team Member, and in a National Champion and holds the all-time leading scorer and assist marks at Brock University. As a coach, Picton has coached at the University Level and has won 3 OBA Championships as a Club Coach. The NGBA guarantees that you will be better in all facets of your game, from the time you start in our program, by the time you finish. If playing at the next level - High School or University level is your goal, then being a NGBA player is the place to be. The NGBA runs two programs, a Summer Academy that focuses on skill development with US tournament programming, and a Winter Team Program geared to full individual and team development.
